On June 15 PIB members have organized the Dutch Biobased Energy Day in Ternopil, sharing their experience and presenting technologies for biobased energy production. The event has been held in cooperation with the Ukraine State Agency on Energy Efficiency, Ternopil Municipality, Ternopil Oblast Administration and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kyiv.
“Visit of the Dutch companies to Ukraine and their presentation of biobased energy technologies prove an importance and bring to life agreements reached during my recent visit to the Netherlands in March this year and of the Memorandum of understanding signed between Dutch RVO Agency and Ukraine SAEE” – said Mr. Sergii Savchuk, head of SAEE during his speech at the Dutch event in Ternopil.
Guests of Biobased Energy Day got an opportunity to learn about Dutch technologies and see how to get more value out of biomass that Ternopil region has available. Solutions offered by PIB members included:
- heat and electricity generation by KARA biomass boilers and CHP,
- bioethanol production via direct processing with betaprocess designed by DSD and
- production of liquid biofuel / pyrolysis oil via fast pyrolysis technology developed by BTG-BTL.
PIB members are in Ukraine for 1-week Road Trip. Earlier this week the delegation visited Odesa and Vinnytsia.
